"My Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades!"

These are people I have worked with one-on-one, and I believe stand the best chance of skipping the traditional market climb.

Will Weiss; Jon Alhart. Both will be major players in the sports-broadcasting arena. If NewsWatch 16 could compete with ESPN, odds are, our "SportsFinal" would probably edge out the cable-giant.

Kevin Shea. He works at WGMC-TV 3 in Worcester, works weekends at WLNE-TV 6 in Providence, and hosts a sports recap show on FOX SportsNet New England. He has an incredible on-air presence and is rather talented -- he's only a few months off from making it big.

My last communication with Stephanie Hoey shows she is a news director at a cable station in Jamestown, NY. Whether in front of the camera or behind it, odds are Hoey will be a very big player in a very big market not too long from now.

Marissa Tejada -- she is the next morning news reader on NBC's Today show. Seriously, the network is only a few years off for her. Right now she is an anchor/reporter/producer at a television station in Yakima, WA. She will probably be able to make a significant jump within the next 365 days. When that happens, look out. She'll be broadcasting world-wide by the time she is thirty.

Christina Medina still has a year of college to finish, but when she gets out of school, she will be an absolute jewel for any anchor desk.

Alyssa Van Wie (seen here [L] making a public appearance at a local elementary school to talk to 4th graders about TV News, and [R] on the set of NewsWatch 54 in 1998) is presently working at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, NY as a morning and noon news anchor. She is a big fish in a small pond. She is positioning herself for a major advance in the next year-and-a-half.

Meet Matt Noyes, pictured here alongside consumer advocate Michael W. Matt began television forecasting at NewsWatch 16, and presently is the full-time morning forecaster for WIVT NewsChannel 34 in Binghamton, NY. He is also a regular substitute for the forecasters at WIXT-TV in Syracuse, NY (both stations belong to the Ackerly Group). He was worked with WHDH-TV's Harvey Leonard and boasts both extraordinary charisma and intelligence. The small markets should enjoy having him while they can.

Gabrielle Prutisto has her eyes set on the network. Judging by the connections she has managed to make for herself starting even in high school, the odds are very favorable that she will achieve her goal. She has befriended the remaining family and friends of Ithaca College alum and deceased network news anchor Jessica Savitch.

More StarWatch to come in the next few months! Stay tuned....
