Ford: No Longer Build to Last

(Detroit) -- In a stark example of how today's mega-conglomerations do not have inter-departmental communication, the Ford Motor Corporation contradicted its slogan, "Ford: Built to Last."

Just last week, Ford CEO Jack Nasser was quoted in the Washington Post having said, "We pride ourselves in our ability to build cars and trucks 'Built to Last'."

However, one local Ford car owner recently got an offer in the mail which clearly states that "The longer you keep your Focus [a brand of Ford cars], the more vulnerable you are to unexpected high repair bills."

This Ford customer, who wished to remain anonymous, told Newsworthy Online, "First they tell me that their products are 'Built to Last.' Then they send me a sheet inviting me to purchase extended warranty insurance, then tell me that the longer I keep my Focus, the more vulnerable I am to unexpected repair bills, and that the bills will be high!"

Ford had no comment on the situation. CEO Nasser refused to concede that his products are likely to deteriorate over time, and would only say that an internal investigation would have to be conducted to find out why the company is contradicting itself.
